Concerned public
Any person or company intending to carry out activities on or in the vicinity of Luxembourg Airport that may potentially impact operations, such as:
– Installation of lighting systems (illuminated signage, lasers, projectors, etc.)
– Airside works (maintenance, construction, renovation activities)
– Crane operations
– Antenna installations
– Drone flight operations
– Installation of reflective surfaces (photovoltaic panels, large glass surfaces, metallic surfaces, etc.)
General Conditions
Below are the general conditions for submitting an airside works authorisation request.
Airside Works Request
You must submit an airside works request for any maintenance, construction, or renovation activities carried out on the airside.
The applicant must be a company or entity, or a subcontractor of a company/entity established at Luxembourg Airport. The intervention must be justified, and full details must be provided using form SOF.OPS-A.006 – Airside Works Request.
Below you will find the application form, with the notice detailing the completion procedure. Once downloaded, completed, and saved, please submit your request to:
lux-Airport will process your request. Any incomplete or insufficiently justified application will be rejected and returned to the applicant.
Once your request is approved, you will be informed and an authorisation will be issued, including a briefing if necessary. This document will summarise all relevant information and conditions to be respected to ensure the proper execution of the works.
Crane request
You must submit a crane request for the installation and use of cranes or any high-lift equipment, whether on the airside or in the vicinity of the airport.
Such structures may constitute an obstacle to air navigation and may impact the safety of flight operations and they are subject to a specific assessment.
The applicant must be a company or entity, or a subcontractor of a company/entity. Depending on the location of the operation, the request must be submitted to either lux-Airport or the Direction de l’Aviation Civile (DAC).

- Intervention within the yellow limits: the intervention and its details must be justified using the application form SOF.OPS-A.006 – Airside Works Request. Below, you will find the application form with the notice detailing the completion procedure. Once downloaded, completed, and saved, please submit it to: as.works@lux-airport.lu
- Intervention outside the yellow limits: the intervention and its details must be justified using the form available at the following link:
Any incomplete or insufficiently justified application will be rejected and returned to the applicant.
Once your request is approved, you will be informed and an authorisation will be issued, including a briefing if necessary. This document will summarise all relevant information and conditions to be respected to ensure the proper execution of the works.
Drone Flight Request
UAS operations carried out within or near aerodrome boundaries may represent temporary or mobile obstacles and must therefore be appropriately managed. In Luxembourg, the Direction de l’Aviation Civile (DAC) and the Administration de la Navigation Aérienne (ANA)are responsible for drone flights approvals depending on the affected area. These areas are identified on the dynamic UAS zones map available at: https://map.geoportail.lu/. By clicking on a zone, an information window displays the associated conditions and restrictions.
Any person or operators intending to fly in a UAS zone must comply with the applicable requirements, such as take-off authorisation, pilot training, or prior notification depending on the type of zone. Some areas require prior authorisation for flights, while others may only require notification.
In addition to these requirements, for drone operations conducted on the airside at Luxembourg Airport, the applicant must also submit a request using form SOF.OPS-A.006 – Airside Works Request. Below you will find the application form, with the notice detailing the completion procedure. Once downloaded, completed, and saved, please submit your request to: as.works@lux-airport.lu
Antenna installation request
You must submit an Antenna request for any installation, modification, or relocation of antenna, whether on the airside or in the vicinity of Luxembourg Airport.
Antenna installations may involve a risk to air navigation, both in terms of physical obstacles and potential electromagnetic interference and therefore require a specific assessment.
The applicant must be a company or entity, or a subcontractor of a company/entity, and must justify the intervention while providing all required details using form SOF.OPS-A.006 – Airside Works Request.
Lightning / Reflective surfaces installation request
You must submit an Lighting/Reflective surface installation request for the installation of lighting devices or reflective surfaces, whether on the airside or in the vicinity of Luxembourg Airport. This applies to any installation involving illuminated signage, lasers, floodlights, solar panels, large glass surfaces, or any other surfaces likely to reflect light.
Such installations may pose a risk to aviation safety by causing glare or visual disturbances for pilots and/or airport personnel, and therefore require a specific assessment.
The applicant must be a company or entity, or a subcontractor of a company/entity, and must justify the intervention while providing all required details using form SOF.OPS-A.006 – Airside Works Request.
