lux-Airport joins Global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, enhancing Support for Passengers with Non-Visible Disabilities

Luxembourg, May 12, 2025 – lux-Airport, the operating company of Luxembourg Airport, is proud to announce its membership in the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program — a significant step toward creating a more inclusive and accessible travel experience for all passengers. lux-Airport is also the first company in Luxembourg to officially join this international initiative.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is an internationally recognized symbol that allows individuals with non-visible disabilities to discreetly indicate that they may need additional support, patience, or understanding during their journey through the airport. In line with its commitment to accessibility, lux-Airport offers the Sunflower Lanyard free of charge at the information desk in Terminal A.

Airport staff who interact with passengers have received dedicated training to recognize the Sunflower and a wide range of non-visible disabilities and to provide empathetic, personalized support. It’s important to note that the Sunflower does not grant access to VIP areas or Fast Track lanes but rather fosters a more respectful and supportive travel environment.

The initiative to join the Sunflower Program aligns with lux-Airport’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and passenger satisfaction. In 2024, the airport served over 5 million passengers heading to more than 120 direct destinations.
