President & Chief Executive Officer
Johan Vanneste is an Aeronautical Engineer who has spent the majority of his career in the aviation sector. He started his career as a motorcycle test pilot for a motorcycle magazine. He then moved into aircraft parts construction at ASCO 1986-1988, traded in military aircraft parts and decommissioned Lockheed F-104 Starfighter supersonic jets at Stiles 1988-1990 and managed a commercial aircraft maintenance department at Belgavia 1990-1996. In 1996, Johan became Managing Director of charter airline Air Belgium (1996-2000). He moved on further to become President & CEO of Delta Air Transport (2001-2002), COO of Brussels Airlines (2002), CEO of VLM Airlines (2003-2010) and COO of TNT Airways (2011-2013). Johan joined lux-Airport in 2014 as President & CEO.
He has brought twenty-seven years of airline and airport management experience to lux-Airport. His personal goal is to transform Luxembourg Airport into the reference airport for the Greater Region, with the star qualities of a major international hub, whilst keeping the charm and efficiency of a regional airport.
Finance Director & Head of Real Estate Development
Alexander Flassak joined lux-Airport in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Real Estate Development. Prior to this role, Alexander worked with Ernst & Young for nine years, in Frankfurt and Luxembourg. He holds four university degrees and took over a stand-in professorship in 2012 for Finance in Mainz, Germany. He has written textbooks in the field of claim and risk management and was recently awarded ‘CFO of the Year’ in 2016. Alexander Flassak serves as President of the Board of Airport-Energy, a 50% subsidiary of lux-Airport.
Director of Operations & IT
Claudine Leinenveber began her career as an IT programmer for a service company and has evolved professionally in a number of fields including marine and motor insurance, business administration, accounting, and human resources
Claudine was previously responsible for managing the IT department at Luxair Cargocenter for over twelve years, implementing a new IT solution. She then joined lux-Airport as Information Systems Manager in 2007, a few months prior to the opening of the new Terminal. Today, Claudine is the Director of Operations & IT at lux-Airport
René Steinhaus studied aerospace and aviation at the Technical University of Berlin. During this period, he served in the German Air Force and worked as ramp agent for the Berlin Airports. He graduated in 1998 and began his career at Fraport AG, the management company of Frankfurt Airport. Here he worked in several positions including a Slot Manager, Deputy Manager – Capacity and Resources as well as Senior Sales Manager for airline acquisition. In 2001, Fraport seconded him as Aviation Manager & non-aviation to the BBIP consortium, founded for the privatization and construction of a new airport in Berlin. In 2004, Rene was promoted to Senior Executive Manager where he was given the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of the Airbus A380 at Frankfurt, the very first airport in the world to welcome the A380. In 2008, he joined the consulting company A.T. Kearney, first as a Manager and later as Principal in the transportation and travel practice. He was responsible for many strategic and commercial projects within airports, airlines and even cruise liners around the world. René Steinhaus joined lux-Airport in September 2016 as Commercial Director.
Director of Human Resources and Administration
David Konsbruck studied business administration. He joined lux-Airport in June 2006 as manager of administration & finance before being appointed Chief Financial Officer end of 2006. He actively participated in the preparation and the opening of the new terminal A at Luxembourg airport in may 2008. Prior to this role he worked for an engineering consultant company for nine years.
In 2015, he is appointed Administration & Human Resources Director and his field of responsibilities include procurement, human resources and infrastructure revenues.
